Frequently Asked Questions

Do you allow or use any kind of numbing agents?

I’ll allow it! Whatever helps you get the tattoo you dream of. I do like to inform clients that more often than not the folks that go into the tattoo pre-numbed tend to have a more challenging time than those that choose not to. I believe it’s because the sensation of pain is almost reversed in an interesting way. As opposed to your first 5-15 mins being the most painful, that's when your piece is going to be the most numb and as time goes on that gradually starts to wear off….

I’ve never been tattooed before—how can I prepare?

The best prep I can recommend is a good nights rest, a solid meal before you come in, water and snacks, and comfortable clothes that you’re not worried about potentially staining. Moral support is welcome, just keep in mind that space is limited and a two guest maximum is preferred..

Can I get tattooed if I’m sick or pregnant or under the age of eighteen?

If you’re sick please reschedule. It’s the thoughtful thing to do for your artist and body, it also lowers your tolerance to pain and can slow healing. If you’re pregnant you will need to schedule for after your baby is born. If you are under the age of eighteen you will need to wait until you’re of age to sign for yourself.

What do you recommend for After Care?

To keep your tattoo healing well and looking sharp: avoid sun, swimming, and tight clothing. Don’t pick or scratch scabs. Skip harsh products—stick to gentle, fragrance-free soap and pat dry with a clean paper towel or air dry. Once healed, cover or use sunscreen to protect against fading.
